I bought a new Sharp 60" (ridiculously large, yes) Aquos LCD TV and wanted to mount it in the same spot where I had a rack mount for my old 47" Sony TV. Unfortunately, the wall mount was embedded in an alcove, so it seemed I need to do some serious construction to re-mount the rack so it was flush with the outside walls.
But, with a little ingenuity and a collision of high-tech electronics and good ol' fashioned carpentry, I got it mounted with $11 worth of materials from the hardware store and an hour of work.
HINT: You need a drill with a built-in level, or a drill-punch table-mounted drill, if you want to have any hope of drilling straight.
Good luck!
